I have done a bit of traipsing in my day, and no matter where I've been, one thing always holds true- where people are gathered, there you will find food. To me, food is much more than a source of nourishment to the body- it's a means of relating with one another, teaching one another, and thanking one another. With it, we welcome and send off, celebrate and mourn. And, in my life, as I'm sure in many of yours, its been over the boiling pot or at the cutting board that some of my favorite moments with some of my favorite people have taken place.
